High School Teacher
Education and experience
I’ve worked with children with special needs and learning differences, including autism, blindness, deafness and orthopedic impairments, since 2001 in resource, inclusion and self-contained classrooms.
What is your favorite thing about teaching at The St. Anthony School?
My favorite thing about The St. Anthony School is its size. Every student knows every teacher. Every teacher knows every student, and all the students know each other, too. It’s an incredible community and support network for all the children. I love how the school completely focuses on the needs of the student and not on standardized test scores.
What is your most memorable moment since you’ve been at St. Anthony?
My most memorable moment at The St. Anthony School was when a child was feeling very sad. Naturally, the school counselor had a talk with him, but so did his peers. The other students cheered him up, as they knew how he was feeling since they had experienced similar events.
What is the one thing you want every parent to know about this school?
Their child will be accepted and valued. The school has no social cliques; it’s all one big family.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy photography, electronics, riding motorcycles, and flying drones.
