Education and experience
I have worked in school administration for 33 years. I am a native Texan and have lived in or around Dallas all my life. I worked at Highland Park Presbyterian Day School and Hillier School in Dallas for 15 years and have worked in the Mesquite and Garland independent school districts.
What is your favorite thing about working at The St. Anthony School?
I really enjoy the team approach to helping these students. Tony, our owner and executive director, is all about the kids! Every decision we make is geared around the specific needs of the student, and it’s gratifying to see them grow. I also love how supportive the staff is of one another. Each staff member contributes to our mission in some way, no matter his or her position.
What is your most memorable moment since you've been at St. Anthony?
I really enjoy fall and the holiday season. We started having fall carnivals a few years ago–something I get very excited about! Being an animal lover, I was excited when our assistant director's mother brought her miniature horses and pig to our first carnival for the students to enjoy. I enjoyed it, too! The students love animals and I enjoy seeing their instant connection with them.
What is the one thing you want every parent to know about this school?
It's hard to name just one. Parents should know that their children will be loved and supported both academically and emotionally. Our teachers and administrators care about the specific needs of each child and encourage them to believe in themselves and others.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love spending time with my family, friends and fur-babies. I have a son, a daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, three dogs and a cat. They certainly keep me busy and I love them! I also enjoy working in the yard, reading and watching old movies.
