Max Nelson, M.A., LPC-Supervisor
Education and experience
I hold a master’s degree in counseling from Amber University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University. I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Texas and hold a certificate as a counseling supervisor. I have more than 24 years of experience counseling families and adolescents who are struggling with behavioral and mental health issues and have worked in a variety of hospital-based settings. I joined the St. Anthony School in the fall of 2016, after serving as the clinical supervisor for the Seay Behavioral Health Center for 10 years.
What is your most memorable moment since you’ve been at St. Anthony?
The most memorable moments at The St. Anthony School are successful collaborations between our students, their families and our school that result in a successful transition to another academic setting or graduation from The St. Anthony School.
What is one thing you want every parent to know about this school?
Through the use of a multidisciplinary approach, family intervention, collaboration with other health care providers and our in-the-moment behavioral education, a family is provided with the opportunity for success through and after school age.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
When I am not at school, I can be found participating in community education through the Dallas Fly Fishers, hiking, camping, and kayaking.
