How to choose the Right School for your Child?

BLOG 7_ How to choose the Right School for your Child_.png

Every family with children is different. Because of this, there are many factors when determining your child's specific educational route. For example:

  • Some families have only one child

  • Some families have several children

  • Some prefer to homeschool

  • Some go to the school designated to them by their address

  • Some families move locations to attend a specific school district and/or school

  • Some stay in the same area that they grew up in so that their children can attend familiar schools

  • Some prefer private schools

  • Some families have children with Different Needs

  • Some have gifted children

  • Some have children within a close age range

  • Some families have children with a significant age difference between them

  • Etc.

…and now, with the pandemic to consider, deciding how to proceed with your children's education is becoming more challenging for everyone.

As mentioned in our previous blog, we are currently living in "historical times", and it is up to us to create our new normal. Even though many families are still waiting for school districts and private schools to release upcoming protocol and safe education options, parents need to consider more alternatives according to their family's needs.

Some family's mental health has been severely affected, and even when many schools are offering resources to support their students' particular situations, not all of them will be ready to support the number of families asking for resources.

Mental health is commonly dismissed, but this massive quarantine has pushed families to stop ignoring it, pay more attention, and look for options to support those affected.

There is still enough time (before the new school year starts) to look for options to support your children and families- in all areas of growth. There are many schools nationwide that specialize in helping children not only academically, but socially and emotionally, too. Especially after the last few months, schooling must be about more than just academics, and therefore schools should be able to help families in a variety of different situations. Regardless of the time planned to be spent at a specific school, it is crucial for families to analyze these factors and choose the school that can adapt best to their current situation and needs.

If you are in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of Texas, we invite you to contact us at the St. Anthony School and schedule a private tour. We can provide you with an overview of our services, discuss your child's specific needs with our Executive Director/Founder Tony Cinquepalmi, and together, decide if the school is the right fit for not only your child but your family as a whole.

Tony Cinquepalmi has been a great leader and a key participant in developing a unique and nurturing educational model that incorporates the best elements of the therapeutic, behavioral, and academic worlds. With the implementation of the method of "treating the whole child", the St. Anthony School has proved to be an excellent option for specialized, private school education.
